My name is Ray and I'm a 50 years old, leaving in Leuven, Belgium.
I've been playing poker, since end 2008.

For sure, I understand you...

But use Reverso.net of Babylon for translator, it's better and you learn very faster...

It's only 18 months ago I use English with 2 on-line translators and a Harraps dictionary...

I have hope to write it correctly one day... Only hope... Good Luck

Some people are just better at learning languages. I would think English isn't too difficult for native French speakers to pick up because there are many words and roots in common or at least similar.

OTOH, there's also a lot of poor English out there from people who are unilingual, so it's also easy to learn poorly or incorrectly by following their examples. When I was hiring in the business world, I'd get resumes from university graduates, and while I never actually counted, I'm sure well over half had errors of grammar and/or spelling and/or word choice.

To see a current example (that happens to be one of my pet peeves) , try googling "definately". You'll get over 79 million results using this incorrect spelling. And in many cases, the people don't know it's incorrect. Sad.

I think that is DEFINITELY the most mis-spelled word. It really is shocking how many people spell it with an "a" , by people that are educated & articulate

I approve the comment of Arjonius, and I play in my writing with the words with the same roots...

Easier to write, easier to memorize...

In Flemish region of Belgium, we have an advantage on France: we have access has a series of televisions proposing English-speaking programs with subtitle in place of dubbing..

Native of the French-speaking region, I had no this opportunity when I'm child....

But my 3-year-old littledaughter understand and explain in her mother language what she sees in her favourite TV programs, for example Dora from Nickel Odeon TV...
I think that you know it in the USA...
That, it's the positive side of childrens Channels...

Once again, thank you to all of your welcome...And I appreciate to have this exchange of ideas...
