BlackChip Poker Leaves Merge

Post by crazylady on Fri Nov 30, 2012 9:43 pm

Winning Poker Network announces Black Chip Poker's transition from Merge Gaming effective December 3rd, 2012.

All active Black Chip Poker players and their account balances, as of Moving Day, will be accessible as of the next day through the new Black Chip Poker presence on the Winning Poker Network. Black Chip Poker players will have their client seemlessly upgrade on Monday after it closes on Merge Gaming.

More information about the new home will be posted as soon as known

that's pretty crazy, wonder what's gonna be left of merge once the dust settles with all their restructuring.

I don't think anything will be left of Merge if they continue this nonsense.

I cannot recall a case when a poker network self-destructed in this way. Assuming no money was stolen like at Full Tilt, then this is a case of incredible sequence of blunders. They better immediately start improving their withdrawals or I don't see how they can recover from this.

I am personally extremely disappointed in Merge if I could venture to offer a grossly understated expression of my view, lol.

Can't say either Merge or Black Chip is making a favorable impression on me the last while.

My bet, they will continue the series, and that will be the end of them.
Many will remember the DGS network. Feels like deja-vu
That's just me being uncharacteristically negative. Having a HORRENDOUs day. Take it with s grain of salt.

It does not look good, BUT you never really know.

For myself - I will be cautious - certainly will not have any real big $ on any Merge site, but it is very hard to predict what will happen. ALSO - keep in mind that it depends what skin you are on... they may move if need be...
sooooo: lower my risk and stay tuned

I don't think it is possible to be too negative when it comes to Merge right now.

Let's summarize the main problems we know about so far:

*) Skins going out of business
*) Skins leaving the network
*) P2P transfers gone
*) Merge cashier totally unreliable for withdrawals, even for non-US players
*) Merge support ignores emails
*) Skins support regarding withdrawals non-existent for the most part
*) Guarantees on tourneys dropping very fast or being removed
*) Persistent and significant decline of players

The DOJ should not even bother with Merge. Merge is doing more damage to itself and a lot faster than the DOJ could ever hope for.

I thought I was Sad
As soon as I heard the player-to-player transfers were being discontinued I immediately put in for a withdrawl from both of the Merge skins I play on (Carbon & BCP). Both WD were via Skrill. Both were denied. Then it was the ol' back & forth with support on both re-submitted them again, one denied the other pending. BCP told me last week my WD would be processed within 1-2days (this was 16days after I'd put it in for the 2nd time) & along with that, they'd acknowledged what I wrote in my email, even saying "Yes, 16days is a long time & we are sorry but your WD will be processed & ready now within 1-2 business days (& continued on in same sentence) so it is still within time frame. Oh I LOL'd at that one.

I received nothing.

Carbon sent me emails telling me I'd need to make a deposit if I wanted to WD via Skrill... because they don't process WD's via Skrill unless you deposit with that method first (LOL.. I have before & even funnier, I have just this past month on the 20th of Nov. & I've WD from Carbon before via Skrill).
Sure would be nice to get an email from support where they were actually honest with you or where they actually have a clue what is going on.
If &/or when, I will pull off every dollar on those sites except for a few buyins for whatever priv. tourney might be happening on them. No point in leaving more than that, or even playing anything else on there until my confidence is restored. (I've lost money on sites a few times lately and not wanting to go through this again).

Hopefully this BCP move to WPN is the start of something good. They're going to have to totally re-vamp the tourney lobby on there imo... at least if they hope to attract all the US tourney regs. Right now (on WPN) there's very little to play in especially for buyins over $20.

Having to deposit again to Carbon in order to withdraw may have been due to the new cashier, specifically if the record saying you deposited via Skrill before didn't transfer. Should that happen? Of course not, but...

I was also told to deposit again, I did so on Nov. 8, then immediately requested a withdrawal, which arrived in my Skrill account 4 days later.

Black Chip is another story. I'm still waiting for my money requested on Nov. 6. Kinda sad, but I half-expect I'll have to deposit again on the new cashier they're using now.

I am sure that I am repeating myself here - but for anyone that reads this and has acct on Blackchip and wants to maintain game play on Merge

AGAIN

I recommend POKERHOST

They have their own cashier -
cashing out (Skrill - is apx 1 day)
They have P2P
they have been around for some time
Min deposit is $10
What do you have to lose giving it a try?

Yes, PokerHost looks really good right now. Probably the best on Merge at the moment. Own cashier + P2P! Also, min deposit is $5 using Moneybookers.

The new BC cashier didn't force me to deposit again before requesting a withdrawal to Skrill. So will see what happens now and how long it takes to get my money.

I had to do the verification on the new Black Chip site before I could request a withdrawal but was done in a couple of days. I went to do a withdrawal and had to call to get that option actived, but only took a few minutes. Requested a check withdrawal on 12/7 was approved on 12/13 and I got it in the mail today 12/24. There was no fee for the check got all the money I had there. Also I have never deposited on the site and it was not an issue. Thought you all might like to know.
