Hmm, guess I never got around to posting an intro. I'm an independent writer, editor and consultant. My wife and I live in a suburb of Toronto, and I work from home except when a assignments require otherwise, so I like to say I have a three-second commute.

I started playing online poker about 5 years ago. I've been a game player for years, so when poker exploded, I figured "why not?" My wife was hesitant about risking any real money, so I started with a $150 bankroll and the promise I'd never go back into my pocket for more. As luck would have it, I didn't even need the $150 since before I ever put any of it into play, I won $150 in a freeroll. Within a few weeks, I managed to get my roll up to $500, at which point I withdrew the original $150. So basically, my entire poker "career" has been a freeroll.

I'm a recreational player. I play more for fun and competition than for the money, although there's certainly some overlap since making money is part of the fun.

My poker highlight (so far) came in 2008 when I won a satellite seat to play in the Irish Open, a $3 million tournament with the likes of Doyle and Todd Brunson, Devilfish and most of the top European pros. I even had a WPT winner at my table the entire time until I busted 10 minutes before the end of day I (Christer Johansson who would also win the 2009 Irish Open), which made the experience even more interesting.

my name is dean.i'm 29 years old.live in upstate new york.married a little over 3 years with a wonderful 16 month old boy.my story is a little like Arjon's.about five years ago.i started playing on a site called pacific poker.played there for about a year until they no longer excepted american players.deposited $20 there originally.turned it into $85.cashed out a winner.

next site i bumped into was bodog.made a minimum deposit there.won a big game for $750.00.made a nice withdrawal.keeping a small bankroll there.it's here where i discovered poker forums.a place called wass is where i called home for about 4 years.wass has since fallen apart of late.so i look now for a new home.maybe here is it.

you can pretty much find me as a member at every poker forum out there.although i don't visit many of them anymore.throughout the years i won some and lost some.my thing was i loved finding and playing small private added money games on any site i could find a forum that i was a member of.

throughout my online poker experience as a small stakes player,a total of 5 years.i've only used $40 of my own money.and at this time last year my total winnings of everything poker related equaled $3,228.56 dollars.

this last year i've sorta given up playing poker.only get to play about a game every other month.being a dad poker has drifted away.my love for it has sorta dissipated.i'm young and maybe down the line when i have more spare time i'll start grinding the tables again.but until then i'm happy being a full time dad.there's nothing better in the world then watching a child grow up.

so that's me in a nut shell.poker has been good to me.i in the past only played because i found it so fun.the winning was second.but i had a blast keeping track of my winning throughout the years.the winning is what i miss most about not playing anymore....
